RSS Feed
A web feed that allows users and podcast directories to access updates to online content.
RSS Feeds are the backbone of podcasting. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is essentially a way of packaging the podcast episodes and all of the relevant metadata in a format that can be easily read by podcast directories. With an RSS feed, when any changes are made to the podcast, whether that is adding a new episode or updating the show notes to a previous one, the directories are able to read the update to the feed and display the latest update as soon as it is released.
