Isolated Track
An individual recording from a single source.
Isolated tracks are used in multi-track recording to provide greater control over the editing and mixing process. Each speaker will have their own microphone, which is regarded by audio interfaces as different sources. By having each sound source on its own track, audio engineers can adjust the volume, apply effects and remove unwanted noise more precisely. For example, if a podcast features multiple hosts, each host's voice would be recorded on an isolated track. This allows the editor to balance the levels of each voice, reduce background noise and ensure clarity. Isolated tracks are essential for producing professional-quality podcasts as they enable detailed post-production work, leading to a cleaner and more polished final product.
